Thread: Talk radio > Music radio

  1. Puyo Talk radio > Music radio

To make a long rant short, music radio sucks. There is never anything on that you like to hear and it's the same shiet all day. Who finds it pleasant to hear the same crappy song twice an hour, all day?

I discovered talk radio earlier in the year and I'm not going back. Keep in mind, this isn't politcal talk or Rush Limbaugh. These people are regular Joe's who provide content that is always new, fresh and never tiring.

Some of the Floridians here might be familiar with the station, Real Radio 94.3

  2. I listen to both. There was a time when I would only listen to Talk Radio, but my favorite shows have either moved to new markets or have died out completely. These days I only listen to a little of Stern in the morning, and a local show about the happenings in Jersey. And I listen to the music stations for most of the day, even though I rarely hear anything I like, which is why I'm getting a new CD player installed soon enough.

  3. The talk radio here in MN is fantastic, there are programs I can listen to that I love almost 24hrs a day. I still listen to Music Radio quite a bit as well though, love me that Classic Rock and golden Oldies.
    Barf! Barf! Barf!

  4. Well, you might want to check out this thread.

Im unfamilier with Real Radio 94.3. Where is it broadcast from?

www.wmnf.org is a great radio station with a huge variety of music and with great(albeit very liberal) news talk radio, broadcast out of Tampa. I esspecially like Tuesday at 11 am. They play Michio Kaku's weekly broadcast about science. I've learned of a bunch of great bands and musicians from them. Chuck Profet, Verve 2.0, Rilo Kylie, Wilco, and a bunch more I can't think of right this second.

I usually like talk radio more than music radio, esspecially when driving back and forth between Tampa and Orlando like I often do.
    A is for action

I just hope to put a decent tape player in my car. That way, I can get a portable MP3 CD player on the side and use that. My favorite station goes into the music format on the weekends.

I'll post the link to my station there. I'm trying to format my thread so as not to "compete" with your thread.

Real Radio 94.3 is broadcast from Port St. Lucie I believe, I'm not 100% sure. I listen to it in West Palm Beach.

  6. I listen to talk radio 100% exclusively. 610 AM Philladelphia sports talk! Whoo Hoo!

Even if the radio did play anything I was interested in (I don't know, I don't listen to it), I can't stand the dynamic range compression that needlessly kills the sound quality even further than the FM transmitting process does in the first place. Yuck.

For talk, I don't give a damn about the sound quality, so I listen.

  7. I love talk radio. The locally-produced talk shows, Lionel, Rush Limbaugh, Michael Savage, Coast to Coast, Glenn Beck, Matt Drudge, and so on. Beck and Drudge are my favorites - they're the most entertaining, aren't heavily slanted to either side politically, and don't center every show around politics. Drudge is just hilarious in some of his Hollywood bashing, and Beck's very funny in his own way.

  8. I used to be a huge fan of talk radio on 102.7 WNEW but then... well... after the Opie and Anthony inccident... it went down hill to say the least. Ron and Fez was still strong but eventually WNEW just turned into "Blink 102.7" which it is now, a music station. I don't get Ron and Fez'snew station from NJ. I enjoy me some Love Line week day night's though.
I thought you were gay.... i guess not.

  9. Yeah, music radio aggrevates me more than entertains me these days. But then the same can be said of many Talk Radio acts. Tom Lychis (or however you spell it) and Don and Mike's shows are abominations. I miss O&A

I'm in the same situation. I can't wait until O&A return, and man, I really miss Ron and Fez. I used to listen to the Sports Guys, even though I dont give two shits about sports, I just liked Craig Carton, he was an interesting radio personality. Which is why I'm glad he's on New Jersey 101.5 doing the Jersey Guys talk show every weekday.

Seriously, Don and Mike were really bad, bu Lychis really goes above and beyond shit.
