Thread: Rush Limbaugh -- racist comment?

It's easy to say that, but then you think Sheen and Depp are idiots. Cuz they're left? Just assuming, but wouldn't that put you on the right? I dunno, but as you're willing to bet on me then I think I've been involved in enough TNL debates to know that we have quite a few of "righties" that frequent.

Even if I don't agree with many of the things he says, I'm open minded enough to listen to what he has to say. If I'm not willing to listen to what he has to say - I mean, honestly LISTEN to him - then I've got no right to bitch or complain about him. Same with everybody else.
Well then you're a better person than I am, huh? Please don't pull out the open-minded stuff. I've heard his program several times and he's done nothing, but mock people who disagree with him. Aside from political views, he's incredible arrogant and disrespectful to anyone with a counterpoint to his. But I guess that's why he's popular with right wing hawks.

And in watching him on ESPN, were you already pre-judging him because you don't like his political views? Maybe you weren't, but I'm willing to bet that you were. Watching him on ESPN, you should judge him on how he does in that position, not what he thinks about Democrats or anything like that. For example, I think Martin Sheen and Johnny Depp are idiots on a lot of their political views. But I still very much enjoy them as actors.
I pre-judged him based on the fact that it made no sense. I've watched Sunday Countdown for a long time and the show seemed fine to me. Why is there a need for controversy by bringing in someone who is hated by just as many people that like him? In my opinion, the move made no sense, regardless of his "football knowledge". Seeing him on ESPN reminded me alot of Dennis Miller on MNF: out of place. Personally, I'd rather learn about football from someone who's played the game rather than someone who "knows" alot about it.

Damn, Carter and Stone count for more than just themselves? Or maybe you meant frost? Or...shit...that's it.

Those are the biggies, yeah, but there are more. How about BoBVila, or JMET or DiffusionX or maybe yourself, even though you like to pretend you're a moderate.

Edit: BTW, this is just from my experience. And just because you're right wing doesn't make you bad, just the polar opposite of the left, which is where I reside. So don't take it personally.

Second of all, he's not a journalist, he doesn't refer to himself as a journalist, he doesn't pass off anything he does as journalism: he's an editorialist and entertainer. He knows it and he says it.

Third of all, he doesn't dodge anyone. He confronts them all. And he always spells out his case.

Fourth of all, he's not fat anymore. He lost all that weight.

You'd know some of this if you bothered to check it out yourself instead of depending on second hand information from your shepard.
Stop defending fat people, you fat-lover!

I bet you love yourself some fat! HEE HAW!

  5. SC, first of all, I dont give a shit if you think Im moderate or conservative. Second of all, like I said, no matter my political leanings, I DONT LIKE RUSH LIMBAUGH. Not one bit. I think he's a pompous windbag and I would never think about listening to his show. People like him, who are so far right or so far left, are more part of the problem than the solution if you ask me. But I did like him on ESPN Countdown, and Id rather he talk about football than politics.

In any case, what he said was not racist. In fact like I said I believe there is truth to what he said. But why isnt anyone picking up on what I said earlier? Al Sharpton is a far leftist while Limbaugh is a far rightist. I never listed to Limbaugh so I dont know but I bet that Limbaugh has criticized Sharpton (probably rightly) many times in the past. Al Sharpton will play the race card whenever he wants as long as he smells some publicity or sees a way to get what he wants. Of course he is gonna go after Limbaugh! Limbaugh is his enemy! What Sharpton said means nothing in this, or really any other debate. However, the media of course will legitimize anything he or Jesse Jackson has to say, but thats another debate for another time.

Anyway, just to reiterate what I said: spacecowboy, I dont give a fuck what you think about me. I dont consider myself a "rightie", yes I am a registered Republican if you must know, but on many important issues I "go left" (abortion, death penalty, prop 54) and I always see both sides of the debate. But even if I was far right, I still dont like Limbaugh and I havent heard his show in at least 5 years. So shut the fuck up with this hardcore rightie bullshit (although, yes, I am a rightie in the sense that my right hand is my primary one).

That makes 4 if you count me. I can't see how you'd peg Diff - because he wouldn't jump on the bandwagon and call Bush Hitler? Or the fact that he, like most Californians don't want Davis in office? Even if I gave you all of those names, it's still not 'quite a few' =p

It's fine if you have no problem with it - whatever 'it' is - but your posts make it sound like this is some board of right-wing nazis and you the poor underdog just trying to fight the good fight.

Then again, I can really over-elaborate when I want to ^^

Be thankful you don't have to debate Stone in real life.

And I don't think Diff is "right-wing", especially after his opinions about Prop 54 here in California.

Actually, I think Stone told me that he does not think the recall is a good idea. Maybe he changed his mind, though. Hrm. All I know is, I'm voting "no" and putting Camejo down. I like anyone who wants to tax the rich more.

It is at the point where everyone has to bend over backwards, cant say a single bad comment about a black person or else they are a racist...

Sorry if I pegged you wrong, but I thought you were on the right when we debated awhile ago. Sorry, but I haven't talked with you in awhile. Take it easy, I didn't mean anything by it.

And as far as political debates go, it's not like everyone on the board participate. There aren't that many that join in the political stuff here, but I think the ratio is pretty even between both sides.

  9. I think a picture of Rush Limbaugh with that McNabb guy in the backround would be great to have. I could then turn it into an STSYA image. That'd be sweet.
