Amen to that. There is some funny Mike stuff, but after Trace left it went downhill ( IMO ) and I hardly watched it on SciFi. And I was a card-carrying Mistie back in the day - still have all those CC Thanksgiving day marathons on tape.....

What the hell happened to Joel Hodgson anyway? I really miss his brand of humor.

....it was BIG time when BIG men drove nothing but HUGE FORD CARS!

...oh no... the dehumidifier committed suicide!

    I miss that show.......

Sure is. Though I only work at one retail store in the nation, based on my experience there are far more children drooling over the Xbox than NGC or PS2 - these two, and more so the former, seem to attract the older audience. I think only kids and independently wealthy bums are hardcore. Go figure.

    Joel > Mike

Joel was like a good pair of underwear - you don't know why or how, but it just feels *so* right.

Joel was never the head writer. It was Mike Nelson from the beginning.

I think they're both equally funny in their own way.

Joel was great, invention exchange was the best part of the show. Also, I miss the CC turkey day marathons.

But.. I think the actual company is making all the wrong moves! They are relying on their previous franchices.. they still havent made an online service, they didnt make the cube very cool (yes being cool is important, it cant be purple at launch, play no dvds or cds, and still be cool!)

And dont compare my opinions to my personality, plz.
I see that you are a GMR reader...............

Didn't he produce Freaks and Geeks for ABC(or CBS?) I hear he even put himself in an ep, the one where the kid buys a lame disco outfit(he was the sales guy that sold it to him,) thinking it would make him look cool, and every one at school called him a fag. That show was yet annother of those brillliant shows that got canned because networks suck and so do their viewers.

Man, have you ever seen the sales figures for X-Box outside of the US? They are getting absolutely annihilated in Japan and aren't fairing very well in Europe either. I think somewhere around 70% of their user base is here in NA, and if the consoles hadn't been reasonably successful domestically, I wouldn't have been suprised if Gates had thrown the towel in on the thing already.

That being said, I'm still definitely a Nintendo fanboy after all these years, but by no means want any system to fail. Competeition breeds great games, and I dread what type of stagnation would plague the industry if Sony ever completely put down the Big N and Microsoft for the count. Or if M$ did it to the other two. Or if Nintendo did it to the other two. It's just not good for business, or gamers, in general.

I really hope the PSP being on the horizon finally motivates Nintendo to do something to get back into the swing of things and start getting with the times. It'd be a shame if they ended up going out of the hardware business simply because of their stubborn refusal to change. Despite the failures with the 32X, Sega CD, and Saturn, at least Sega went down swinging with the DC...
    omg TNL epics!

  9. Xbox has sold 59,595 units in Japan this year.

I think it was also F and G that Trace ( Dr. Forrester ) was a teacher on as well. Yea, I remember Joel on it - I think it was one maybe two episodes. Undeclared was another equaly good Apatow Productions show that was cut down too early. TV's Frank was also involved with the first year of Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Trace is now a writer for America's Funniest Home Video's - they've all been working / doing stuff behind the scenes. And yea, invention exchanges were definately Joel's thing - that was basically his whole stand-up routine.
