GameCube sales numbers revealed
In the week since the price cut to 99 American boffos, Nintendo sold 61,000 GameCubes in the United States, a quantum leap from the 15,000 units in the months of August and September combined.
"I think it will be sustained (until the Holiday season)," said George Harrison, Nintendo of America senior vice president of marketing.

Good news for the big N but I'm not impressed
If Nintendo was to sell out the over stocked Gamecubes
in the wherehouse and the production was up then I would be impressed with their numbers. All in all I feel that the price cut
was a move to keep Gamegube afloat.When the numbers of
all the consoles are in from the holiday season then enlighten me!

Yeah, go look at how the Xbox is doing in Japan. It has sold a total of 59,595 units for the year. That's pathetic!

Yes they are, but since it's a Japanese console selling in a US market, I thought I'd show the opposite side of the spectrum. While 15,000 seemed pretty pethetic for the GC in the US, the Xbox numbers in Japan(59,595 for the year) is more than pathetic, it's dormant.
