I agree with that point to <i>some</i> extent, but you know --- it's not the absolute attitude held by everyone. Receiving product really is a privilege since it allows us to expand our passionate service to discuss games regardless of their popularity factor. I will say that it helped to open my eyes to how the industry operates. I've been there and back again; burnt out...passionate and other times simply neutral. In the end, I still enjoy writing a great deal and find TNL is a remarkable opportunity for promoting content on respective titles and related gaming events. Thankfully, we're able to combine our own personal acquisitions with games which normally by itself would be a substantial investment to offer diverse and informative content. It's not fair to cast judgment on editors as a whole just for the sake that they receive game products for free, regardless if they are full-time professionals or enthusiasts.

i agree here. sounds like RoleTroll just wants TNL to be something more than what it is. im all for that and all, but GameFan? you gotta be kidding me.

As for being a successor to GameFan? Nah. It might have somewhat of a similar spirit, in some ways, but it's not GameFan in the afterlife. GameFan is best left where it is - dead and buried and fondly remembered by some.
