Thread: Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance becomes Greatest Hit, Platinum Hit and Player's Choice

  1. Puyo Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance becomes Greatest Hit, Platinum Hit and Player's Choice

Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance is entering the "top seller" program for Xbox, GameCube, and PlayStation 2, which, as usual, means new packaging and lower prices.

The new Greatest Hits Deadly Alliance for PlayStation 2 is launching today with a price tag of $19.99. To become a Greatest Hit, the game is required to sell more than 400,000 units in the first nine months, which DA easily reached by selling nearly one million.

The Platinum Hit DA, which sold nearly 450,000 units on Xbox, will also be launching today for $19.99.

The GameCube version sold nearly 250,000 units, which qualifies it to become a Player's Choice. That will launch on October 27, likely with a $29.99 price.

  2. What a bunk idea, pricing the GC version at $10 more.

  3. Woo! Excellence, now at a lower kost.

That's how the Player's Choice has always been. Personally, I think it's lame that their answer to Greatest Hits is $10 more, but that's how it's always been with GameCube, and they still haven't learned. They keep going with the system drop instead of games.

  5. I could never agree with nintendo on anything, from the high price tags of their snes carts, to the way they keep making add-ons that we shouldn't have to buy in the first place.

I just know I'll be steering clear on the NGC issue, the extra $10 is better served on beer!

  6. It's a game I already got for PS2, and have since sold, so it doesn't bother me any (plus I don't have a gamecube), but I still think it's lame.

  7. I think you guys are forgetting something, the fact that a non-Nintendo game has made Greatest Hits status is news to me.
