    SPOILER ALERT! question for foreverand1day..
The "MAN" that's controlling the Homonculus.. who do you think it is? I'm thinking it's Ed's father since he suddenly appears out of nowhere. Also, before it was announced who Pride really was going to be, I always thought it was going to be the Furer or Ed's father (this was before i learned of the fact there is someone controlling even pride... I always thought pride was the "HIM" lust and gluttony spoke of) Now Furer is off the list. I'm guessing it's their dad. And one last thing, Lyra is obviously evil, I wonder what kinda role she has in this
Yeah, I'm thinking the man is Ed and Al's dad. If that's true though, his motives are baffling to say the least ... I mean why would he be doing that? Lyra is indeed strange ... there are just so many new turns! I can't wait to see more.

Well remember... their dad was also interested in human transmutation so I guess that leads to him ordering the homonculus to find the philosopher's stone. How he controls the homonculus is what im more interested in

Well, I know that he was interested in human transmutation, but from early on in the series it seemed like he gave up after a reaching a point ... in other words, I thought he gave up because he found out the 'truth' about the Philosopher's Stone, which would lead me to question his intentions for continuing to search for it.

I'm wondering if he isn't using that as a means to come into contact with Ed and Al, because either he knows Ed would never seek him out openly or because he can't actively search for them ... though the preview for episode 43 sort of threw out that theory. Was Ed and Al's attempt to revive their mother preordained [as I'm sure their father knew of their attempt, if he didn't why didn't he return home?], was Al's purpose to become the embodiment of the Philosopher's Stone [he's a soul bound to the Philosopher's Stone now, could that be a recipe for the Homonculus getting their soul]?

As for controlling the Homonculus, I'm sure it's deeper than this, but it probably has something to do with fulfilling their wish to become human. What interests me is the role Mustang is going to play in all of this, I mean he was at Ed and Al's house when they tried to revive their mother and while it seems like his intentions are good, I have a feeling his role in the end has been predetermined for quite some time.

Well Mustang being there in the beginning wasnt anything special since he was sort of searching for their father also and he recieved the letter from Ed and Al looking for their father. I do really want to know the true intentions of Mustang wanting to head to the top so badly.

Another question I have is... if Al's body was taken beyong that door Ed saw, where is it now? shouldn't something have happened because of that?

Al's body is on the other side of the gate ... pretty much in limbo. Al isn't dead, so his body hasn't been turned into a Homonculus and hasn't come back in any other from. It's just there. If his armor was destroyed and his soul passed over and someone tried to revive him then his body would become a Homonculus. It'll be interesting to see how/if they [Ed and Al] can manage to get it back.

That brings up the point of Ed's arm and leg, which are already being used by Wrath ... personally I think he's sol. With that in mind, my confidence in them being able to retrieve Al's body is also beginning to wain. Though perhaps it's possible now with Al's soul fused to the Stone.

Do not forget that he killed Winry parents, so his coming to the Rockbell's has surely more more than one meaning. As for his motivations for becoming Furher, I think he said he wanted to avoid any other misuse of the army, such as Ishbal (in an episode rigth after or before Hugues death, there is a flashback of him taking this resolution, with Hugues agreeing to help him from behind)

Wasn't there a mention of the Homunculus being rather short-lived, and that "that man" is helping them stay alive (by giving them "red stones" for instance) ? I can't remember exactly but I was under that impression.

  7. I went to Otakon and saw possibly the best Izumi cosplayer ever. So good, that I actually asked her if I could take her pic. Too bad I only had a digital video cam. Sorry for the horrible quality.

  8. Hmm... don't remember her wandering around.
Though, speaking of Otakon, I did see the FMA "screening."

Funimation sure is a bunch of dicks. One episode, when it was listed as 5 or so. Otakon staff said they thought Funi gave them the wrong disc, but when they went up and asked why the next disc had Spiral on it, they said, "Oh, well we decided they only needed to see one episode."
    Thanks. Dicks.

  9. I'd be mad, too. The Izumi looks great! Always wanted to go to Otakon, but I've only been able to go to AWA. This year will be the 4th I think. By the way, does anyone know if Spoon stopped fansubbing Fullmetal Alchemist?

Was it just subbed or was it dubbed? I'm curious as to how the voice acting is.

I'm sure they're still subbing it, there'd be no reason to stop now, being so close to the end and all. Remember, fansubbers are people too, not translating machines, I'm sure they're just outside somewhere enjoying their summer.

  11. I just finished watching episodes 31-43 in the past two days and lemme just say that Full Metal Alchemist is one of the best anime series I have ever had the pleasure of watching.

  12. About the identity of 'that person'...
There's a couple of clues around the time Greed appeared up until his death that hint that Dante is the one. Kinda tired to go through it in full detail right now, but here's my theory. Envy and Lust say something like "Let's tell that person about Greed, because that person created Greed a long time ago. It's been a while since we've been there." And they pan up to show the path to Dante's house. Why would Homunculus visit a normal person to tell them about the Homunculus they created? Dante created Greed, but Greed was sealed 130+ years ago. The Dante Ed and Al met couldn't be that old. Does she have the ability to take over bodies? It would explain the whole Lyra thing. Greed says "A brat like you can't do something like this! Don't tell me..."

I've got a couple more hints but I'm a bit tired to remember em right now.

  14. 44 is out. I just hope spoon will sub them soon because I don't like the way they translate the names in the shinsen-subs.

  15. shinsen = sonchou? If so, I hear you, but I really can't wait for Spoon's version.

I just found the sonchou 44 link, and will be d/ling it.

  16. Well, the series has ended and I had the pleasure of watching 48-51 (final ep) straight through.

Its safe to say that this is the best anime series I have seen in a long time.

Just an incredible series, and I gotta give the people who worked on this masterpiece their dues.

I can't wait to see the movie.

  17. I agree with this conjecture (I'll NEVER say it).

  18. I was almost worried that the ending was going to be too ridiculously rushed, preposterous, and/or unsatisfying during the mid-late 40's. Silly me to doubt, it ended wonderfully. Satisfying, yet still with an appetite left for the movie. Great stuff.

I was especially glad to see Roy survive, as his struggle for redemption was so bittersweet in a way, and for him to have died (even after finally getting revenge for Hughes) would have been a major bummer. Great fight, though.. Bradley snapping his own son's neck was horrifying.
It'll be fun to see what he'll have to do in the movie, or even if Ed runs into the Mechanical World's Roy. Hurhurhur...
Also great to have Al back, and he's probably better off without some of those memories... although of course, he's sort of back at the beginning of ye ole vicious cycle...

Oh, and was I the only one that thought Robo-Archer was pretty ridiculous and unneccessary? I would think such cyborg-like technology would be a bit beyond that world, even taking automail into consideration. *sigh*

  19. http://bt.nanashi-fansubs.com/torren...6].avi.torrent

There's the torrent fo the movie trailer for those who haven't seen it yet.

[edit]Just watched it, and it's hella lame.

  20. The series will be showing soon on Cartoon network. We'll soon find out how many things funimation is gonna ruin in it. I could be a little more positive...but its funimation we are talking here.

They also have the official site up with a count down till it comes on and trailers.

  21. They did a decent job with Yu Yu Hakusho, and besides there's always the DVDs.

  22. Watching it on CN now, the voice over is ass!

  23. okay ive got the first two dvd's and i havnt watched anything on CN. so the series is over 50 episodes? and they only have 8 out so far on dvd!? the last time i could sit thru entire discs of a series was with Firefly and Full Metal Panic. i just love the show so far.

  24. Just thought you'd like to know that the first screeners for the movie are up. Haven't bothered with them myself as I try to avoid screeners.

I'm losing interest in this because they keep killing off my favourite characters - Hughes, Greed.

And Ed is just fucktarded in most battles. And Al should ask Winry to put some screws on his head.

Basically once it stopped following the manga it started to suck. And I haven't read the manga, I was just told when it stopped following it, and the suckage happened to coincide.

;_; the part right after that makes me sad. I liked that character.

So, when you die, you go to Post WWII London in 1921.

  28. You fail at anime.

BTW, it sets up for the movie.

    Hahaha, why do I fail?

And isn't the movie not out yet?

  30. It comes out in Japan in July.
