Thread: marriage

  1. This chick makes me want to get married.

But unfortunatly she bleached her hair. My passion has long since been lost.

However, the concept of marrage completly terrifies me. I don't understand it.

Sometimes I question if I am in love anymore. I can lie in bed next to her at night, and be totally blissful, while being uneasy and sick at the same time.

I can't imagine life without this girl, but I also can't imagine being with her for the rest of it either.

Does any of this make any sense at all?
it makes sense. and it's totally understandable.

it's like....this life altering thing. it's just a ring on your fingers and some paperwork....and some witnesses....but it's all so...i dunno. you can be with someone for a long time and feel totally fine....but when marriage comes into the equation it just seems to gum up things in my head somehow. i think allot of people are scared of loosing the comfort they have from not being married. like....whatever happens happens....but if i'm married then.....whatever happens is gonna effect me in...like....totally different ways....i'm rambling.....it's late......am i making any sense?

she looks do-able.....but too crazy to marry.

  3. I feel like getting married is something I really want to do, but is definately not gonna be something I'm gonna do without careful consideration and a two-way love for someone. I'm hoping to get married young (20-21...yeah I know:P) but I guess I'll just get married whenever I find that person who I want to marry. Also I'll have to find a pretty faithful girl because I've chosen my career in the US Marine Corps, but it's one thing I really look forward to, finding the greatest person I've ever met and spending the rest of my life with them. I figure if you follow the way God laid it down you should be good.

Some statistics I heard...believe them or not
53% of all people in the US get divorced
49% of people who attend church get divorced
1% of people who pray together get divorced

    Again...believe that or not:P

  4. I'll get married when I'm darn and ready. I don't know I'm still several years away from really thinking about it.

Right now I'm rather bitter about marriage, but just because my dumbass friends can't prioritize their lives right.

To me, the most important items in life should rank something like -

    1) Stable career
    2) Car ownership
    3) House ownership
    4) Marriage

and not the other way around.

This Friday I was the best man for my friend's wedding. Prior to the job he just got a month ago, he's been unemployed for six months. He has no college degree of any sort. He was unable to make payments on his new car (which his wife has taken care of). He is still living at his parent's house.

Yet I have to work for half of a month at FedEx so that I can afford the "privilege" of watching my friend get drunk at a bachelor's party and get married. 10 days of stuffing boxes in trucks so that he can be a slob WITH someone else. Yeah, fuck marriage.

  6. My dad has told me he wants grandkids, and just for that (I have many more reasons) I hate his fucking guts. I have another relative just like him who now has 3 kids and barely any money, and another with 5 kids who's a deadbeat. Most of the women I know who are married and have kids did it because they wanted something to cuddle for a few years, like they couldn't get a pet, or god forbid, adopt some poor kid instead of making your own who you're going to hate when they get their own will. Most of the men I know who got married did it because they're very horny and must think the world of their cocks. I might be cynical on the matter of marriage, but only because I recognize the immense importance of it. A perfect person for everyone and a perfect loving family for them sounds like a wonderful thing, but most people I know got married for selfish reasons, and ended up with shitty lives.

Doesn't that depress you though, those are the main things in life? Jesus

Sounds like a pretty good description of marriage in the US these days...it's pretty sad the amount of people who get divorced and leave broken families with kids and whatnot (victim of this myself:P) Though when I get married I'm not sure I want any kids...don't like them at all.

this post sounds so much like something i would say that its scary. i don't want any kids either. not that i really hate them, but its just not one of those things i wanted to do when i got older. i made a thread about it awhile ago.

  10. Its not that I hate kids. I just hate kids who arent mine. You know, the loud crazy little ones that you just want to sit them down and talk to? but you cant cus their not yours. I hate them. but I want ones of mine own. I think my genes are good enough to pass on. meh.
