A Weighted Poll?

You know the way "pick the best game" polls are often flawed when people only vote for the best game they've played and there might be better games on the poll that they haven't played? Like that recent on-rails shooter poll where there were complaints that people voted Rez 'cuz they hadn't played Sin & Punishment.

Would it make sense to have some kind of a weighted poll? Each choice would have a check box to select if you've played the game and when you've selected the ones you've played then make your choice from them using radio buttons. So the score for each item in the poll is the number of votes it got divided by the number of people who played it.

It would be sort of flawed with low numbers, say if only one person played a certain game and thought it was the best ever and no one else even played it, it would have the highest possible score of 1/1. But all polls are inaccurate at low numbers...

Nice idea, but we probably wouldn't develop it (unless cka wants to hack up vB).

There's way too much stuff to change in vBulletin to make something like that work properly, unfortunately.

everyone should include an option in thier polls for people who don't feel informed enough to vote (they haven't played all the games for example), but still want to see the results

cool, never noticed that
