  2. i must be out of the loop, because this is what i found most interesting:

...in late 2004 to coincide with the DVD release of the first three movies (A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi)

  3. Yeah, but if you're thinking it's the unaltered originals, then you're out of luck. The copies that were used for the special editions were destroyed by George Lucas. In fact, a recent LA film festival was going to celebrate each decade of film with a particular movie. The original Star Wars had the honor to represent the 70's....but Lucas made them not show it. You can read about it at Ain't it Cool News.

  4. That's so weird of him. I don't understand why he would do that... it's like (one guy I know's theory) he is intentionally destroying the franchise because he has really grown to hate it over the years.

I think he hates the fans and wants to torture them actually. Considering how annoying the more rabid fans are I can't really blame him.

It's all good...I got the original unaltered versions on LD in CAV format. Sometimes I would rather not have to swap/flip discs 5 times during a single movie...I would like to invest in one of those nice auto-flip/multi-disc lD players, but could never justify the cost...well this might do it...
