Romero is a smacked ass who can't do anything right.
Gamespot reports that, starting Wednesday, Tom Hall will be working as Creative Director and John Romero will be the Project Lead on an action title for Midway San Diego. They will also be lending their talents for other projects, one of which may be the already-in-development Gauntlet sequel.
Of course, this leads to speculation about the fate of Monkeystone, Romero's and Hall's development company, which most famously worked on the N-Gage port of Red Faction. If Monkeystone is gone, then Nokia's handheld is surely doomed!
I think the N-Gage was doomed well before the Monkeystone project.![]()
First of all Nokia's hand held was doomed from the start thank you. Secondly I'll only play a game that Romero has had a hand in if he promises to make me his bitch.
Based on Daikatana? I don't think every game he's behind would have the same circumstances. I belive people can learn from thier mistakes, not to mention he's had his hand in some very very very ground breaking games so I would think twice about knocking him a whole hell of a lot. Daikatana jokes are all well and good, but that wasn't all of his career. I contend that without Romero, id software lost quite abit of thier ability to make a creative or imaginitive game. Doom 3 looks good, but have you seen some of the monsters? Id might well be relegated to engine technology (which they're great at, perhaps unparalled) in the future as if that wasn't the lion-share of everything they work for. Romero was a visionary and I don't think the worst game ever made could take that away from him.Originally Posted by Captain Vegetable
