  1. News Ratchet & Clank 2: Going Commando

    I think it's about time this get's it's own official thread. With everyone going ape-poop over it in the Jak II thread, I figured this would be a good move.

    I'm in the process of playing through Ratchet & Clank again, as it's been a while since I played it, and I wanted to "get in the mood" for Going Commando.

    This game is a lot better than I remember it being, and I remember it being fantastic.

    I don't know if I rushed through the first time, or what, but I never knew about the gold bolts and gold weapons. This time I'm going to try and collect them all. Like Pokemon, but much more cool and destructive.

    Well, that's it for now. Anyone have any info on the new one? Story, weapons, game play, anything? Or even if you just want to comment on the first one, come on down!

  2. I thought it was really boring, and I never had enough bolts it seemed for all the weapons.

    I would have liked less worlds, but with more to do in each one, and for them to be bigger as well.

    I might go try it again at 20 bucks, but I didn't enjoy it very much the first time.

  3. Some of the weapons are bit expensive, but you get what you pay for. I just spent 7,500 bolts on the Glove of Doom, and it's got to be the best weapon in the game. How much I use it made swallowing that huge amount of cash a lot easier.

    Besides, the game practically dumps bolts on you. I've only not had enough money for something once, and that was quickly remidied.

    I agree with you about the size of the planets, though. I mean, they're freaking planets! You'd think there'd be more to do than just complete six or seven objectives. If they could keep the same number of planets, or make more, and at the same time actually have you traverse the entire face of the planet, it would be a much appreciated improvement. It'd make the game horribly long, but I think we'd all be OK with that, so long as it was fun.

  4. Whatever you do... don't waste your time trying to 100% the first game. I went through all that freaking work and the "prize" wasn't even remotely worth it. It was better then the "prize" at the end of the first Jak & Daxter... but not by much.

    And yeah... I can't wait for the sequel... Although I'd still rather get a Sly Cooper 2.

  5. One of the few PS2 games I've finished. Really fun game though I never bothered to get the gold weapons or more than 4 gold bolts. The lip synching and animation is great too. I got my eye on GC.

  6. bbobb, what is the "prize" at the end of R&C? And while I'm at it, what's the "prize" at the end of J&D? I think I need two more power cells to 100% the game, but I'll be damned if I'm going to do it any time soon.

  7. .. Get the Uber gun in Ratchet & Clank.... its just fun... i think it was called Rhino, or something.. that made the game worth it, for me.

  9. Makes the last boss about 10x easier, but I never got it myself. My little brother wasted god knows how much time getting it, and it is pretty cool.

    Anyway, EGM had nothing but amazing things to say about Ratchet and Clank 2, saying it's easily better than Jak II. The game sounds really, really good. And supposedly Ratchet is less annoying in this one, so that's a good thing already.

    It sounds like all the RPG elements are what's going to make this game so much better than all the rest.

    Well, You could collect enough bolts, if you put some effort in it We had all the weapons, even infamous RYNO gun

    I actually loved the fact that it had so many DIFFERENT worlds, each with its unique style and flair.

    Plain AWESOME gun. Makes you run through last boss in couple of minutes

    When is R&C 2 coming out?
