To be honest, I come to TNL when I am curious about a game. Those "official" threads have never let me down...yet

Milkman's 4.5 review of Stuntman almost made me stay away from the game, but I gave it a rent and discovered two things: Stuntman is a really, really good game, and Milkman must really, really suck at playing it.

I agree with ZeroDash. Half the time i rent some games that are rated low and they turn out to be better than some of the higher rated games.

I'd like to add that I was pretty disappointed when EGM failed to mention any of the shortcomings in GTA Vice City and gave it a perfect score across the board. I was speechless.

Good game? Yes. Perfect? Not by a long shot.

I am another who reads the magazines and looks at the pretty pictures but bases purchases on personal intuition (or random need - I needed JGRF yesterday because it was $15). I'd buy Mario Kart DD if it scored 10s or 2s. It's just that I don't really care what Jim Smithson Video Game Journalist thinks about Game A or why Game B is better.

Jim Smithson Video Game Journalist can blow me.
