Second, the only way I can describe that logic is counter-intuitive:
"If this console port sells well on a machine which is shown to have a history of having shitty software sales, we'll gladly port the game to the other consoles (including the two which already have the first game of the series) where it would have sold better by default in the first place."

I've only heard two tracks so far and those were pretty mediocre imo.

Played some more MLF2 last night... yeah, still not a huge fan of the game. Style / atmosphere / graphics / music all kind of sucks. Gameplay is ok but nothing amazing - I prefer the up-close attack style of Mars Matrix over what is given here.
Looks like I'm sticking with my plan to order Border Down and will be skipping Shikigami II.
Any word on 480p support? No progressive scan equals no 'tate' for me![]()

The official page for Shikigami no Shiro II GC has been opened. Lots of new info available as well. The Gamecube version will include all 7 characters from the arcade, and have a few playable modes. Arcade will take you through the full story mode, practice mode is basically score/stage attack. Unlockables include 'story recollect' mode, where you can hear/view the dialogue from the story, which should be worth something given the fact that they've hired some professional voice actors to do the voice. There will also be a gallery mode for the illustrations, et al. The game will feature TATE (vertical) mode, as the last one did - and this time in normal mode there will be an illustration of your character on the sidebars. Vibration and progressive scan are also to be available. The game is planned for an October 24th release at 6800 yen.![]()

You should be able to play this game w/o having to mod my GC right? I thought that like Action Replays or something can do this?
This is incase there is no slated US release in the near future (that is there is no announcement of a US release)
You can use the Freeloader boot disc, which is sold at EB and the like. I'm not sure about the Action Replay, since I've never used one.
Then again, don't you have some soldering experience? I'm assuming this from your custom stick work which you've talked about elsewhere. Well a GC mod is just a toggle switch and two wires; couldn't be any easier really.

I called my import shop and they didn't get it yet. Usually they have the game the day it comes out in Japan.

They improved this game quite a bit. I was a moderate fan of the first, and this is impressing me more than I thought. These guys did their homework. And when I say they did their homework I don't mean they sat there and copied the answers out of the back of the book.
I haven't played through the game it in it's entirety- but they basically maintained the great aspects of the first game, refined and tweaked them, and added some more. I thought the first game lacked variety, and so far they seem to have more variety to enemies, bosses, and bullet patterns.
I'm glad they redid the characters, they were fluid in the first game but a bit pixelized. They look very smooth and fluid, and the new characters are pretty cool.
Double shienryu is ok, I'm not too impressed with the new one- but then again this is a budget release so it's not a bad deal.
