Shades of the Famicom Disk System? The concept of the iQue is to copy games onto the Flash memoy cards--I don't think Nintendo's new console is based around that...unless it has an optional port for it that will be integrated in the design--but why buy the game when you could probably copy from a friend or download a hacked rom (barring some insane protection scheme). I predict the new home console will have Gameboy Advance/next gen gameboy compatibility out of the box.

Its not the iQue either. You can't unviel something twice.
What I don't get about the iQue is that you get to "demo" Ocarina of Time for like 10 hours or something, and beyond that you gotta pay $6 for the game. Is there any way to transfer your save? i'd be pissed if i had to play the 10 hours of the game over again.

Nintendo releasing a set top box is silly. Nintendo is not an electronics company and I don't think I'd buy anything other than a gaming machine from them.
Well... I guess they ARE an electronics company in a way, but you know what I mean.

I don't get why they would release this system in the one country that is notorious for pirated software and hardware. The ROMS for that unit will be available on the street corner for half the price.
