I agree. I can only suspend my disbelief for so long.

And for God's sake, let your characters maintain a bit of their dignity! Let them die and stay dead! Dying for a good cause is so much more significant if you know the characters're not coming back after a year.

And the exception somehow negates all the other examples. Here, I'll make it easy: Hal Jordan also came back to semi-life as the new Specter, and Kevin Smith brought Green Arrow back to life (kind of).

Now for more dead: Supergirl, Superboy, about two Starmen, the entire Green Lantern Corps, Dove, Terra, Rorschach (heh), most of the Doom Patrol (including Beast Boy's parents), Dream, and all of John Constantine's friends.

I'm sure some more have kicked the bucket since I stopped reading comics years ago.

    Odin As Policy Wonk
One may ask about the dubious and off-topic looking heading above. Nonetheless, I consider the policies of Marvel's Odin generally relevant here. Occasionally Thor whines to his father about some deserving hero, heroine, or love interest he would like to return from the clutches of Hela (or, as we might say, from death).

Odin, however, becomes philosophical about the balance of life and death and the domains which belong to Odin and those that do not, and fairly consistently declines to intervene in matters already decided in Death's favor.

If Odin recognizes his own limitations - including their moral aspect - regarding the theft of the dead, how cheesy must it appear when a nonsuper costumed adventurer like Hawkeye can just waltz into hell and bring people back?
Funny and true. Marvel sucks my ass.
HA! HA! I AM USING THE INTERNET!!1

  3. Marvel is awesome, at least all their heroes aren't godly powerful without the charisma Marvel charadcters have. You all suck ass!

  4. Supergirl, has been revived, sort of. Lex Luthor is alive, sort of. And what's this shit about the entire planet of Krypton?! Everyone on that's alive too.

  5. A friend of some friends did pencils (or was it inking? I can't remember) for Aquaman a while ago, up until he missed a deadline and promptly got fired. Last I knew he worked at a nearby pizza shop, and no, I don't know his name off the top of my head.

I really only recall that because of a conversation I was having with my friends at the pizza place and one them was remarking about how he was stunned that people didn't recognize the man who drew Aquaman. The first thought that popped in my head was, "I've probably read more comics then half the people wandering this street and I have no clue who the hell draws Aquaman, let alone that he's working in the store next to my job." Now, if he drew for Spiderman or something I could sorta understand, but Aquaman? You're giving the source material too much credit there.

    Fucking brilliant.

  7. Here is how he will look from now on.

He still has the water hand and has the orange/green updated costume. I'm not sure if can actually control water though as I don't read the comic but I probably will starting this issue.
