How so? How could you worship something that at the time didn't exist in the form we (err... Christians) are worshipping now? God existed, and prophecies of a saviour existed, but the saviour himself wasn't born yet.

Or do you mean that they worshipped him because they worshipped a saviour that was to save them? So they were worshipping the metaphysical Christ.
You see, Jesus was around before He was born into a human body. Remember the way I described the Trinity? That's the way it had always been. Jesus was with God the Father, as well as the Spirit since they were (that might not make much sence, but I couldn't very well say "since They began" because there is no such thing).

When the Jews were worshiping "The Creator," they were worshiping the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit all at the same time. Even their word for God in the Old Testament is plural, "Adonai." They knew that the three, though seperate, were one.

So, they were, in effect, worshiping Jesus, and they were awaiting His arrival. As well they worshiped the Father and the Spirit, too.

Make sence?
