You guys are way too hung up on the driving aspects of the game. Especially since they only make up about %1 of the entire game. Reno, you can still go online using XBconnect.
Like our Max Payne review, we've added a second opinion of Neversoft's latest title to our original review, written by Zondaro. Although Mr. Zondaro hasn't played a Tony Hawk game in his life, yours truly has been living it up with the Birdman since the first title made waves on the PSOne. What you will find in the review are two different viewpoints; one of someone new to the series, and one that has seen and done it all so far. Read our reviews of the game below, and please note that the review is based on the Xbox version of the game only.

I think that even if the driving / on foot portions of the game were well done, it takes away from the focus of the game, but that's purely my opinion. I suppose I'm a purist at heart when it comes to that sort of stuff. I know a couple of people who think it's good though.
If my memory of her has an expiration date, let it be 10,000 years.
Having THPS4 flashbacks while playing this or something? There is not a single SKATE challenge in THUG (in the career mode at least). Sure, there are a bunch of finding the objects for no good reason challenges, but at least I didn't have to endure the endless repetition of those same five letters like THPS4.Literally each level had one of each of the five: hit a combo line, find the SKATE letters, do this trick, find this person/item, get this many points in X amount of time.
I won't say any more about the review other than I mostly disagree with it, except that the cars seem indeed useless since they're not worked into the tricks in any way. The on foot stuff was really well done though and added to the way I combo. Controlled fine as well.
PS - No one plays xbconnect. I'd try doing it, but from all reports its a wasteland. Live would have been nice, but it's all MS's fault not Neversoft's. Taking off for it is like taking off from the PS2 version for not having custom soundtrack.

There are SKATE challenges in the pre-made custom skate parks. I was probably thinking of that. My apologies.
