Thread: Review: R: Racing Evolution

  1. News Review: R: Racing Evolution

R: Racing Evolution is quite different from past Namco racers that emphasized heavy powersliding and arcade-style play. Instead, we have a game that's part arcade racer and part simulation. Although it's departure from previous games, that doesn't mean that the changes made make it a terrible game. On the contrary, it holds up rather well, it's just very different from what fans of Ridge Racer would expect.

  2. Good review. It's unfortunate that the handling is mediocre, and I've read similar criticism in other reviews/previews. With the bar for racing games being quite high, and there being no shortage of great racing games, Namco really needed to pull out all of the stops on this one. Sounds like they didn't.
