I see now. The screens from the LW range are classed as TVs and the 172MP etc. are classed as monitors with TV tuners. There are requirements regarding response time for a flatpanel monitor to be classed as a TV so that's the difference, I think.
The one I got is very similar to the "172MP" model -- http://www.samsung.co.uk/cgi-bin/ecu...ST%2fXEU%0d%0aOriginally Posted by Mikey

[QUOTE=epmode]i highly recommend getting the vga adapters for both the xbox and gamecube. i have both, and they're amazing. dreamcast vga quality, even.

I just got the Gamecube cable linked to here, but I can't get it to work. I got a DC VGA box recently, and I just plugged the thing into the back of my PC and it worked. Help.

Are you telling your games to run in progressive scan mode? (Hold down B as the game boots.) I believe that is necessary for the VGA adapter to work.
You may have to make that selection on another screen if you can't see anything on the monitor when the prompt comes up.
This VGA adaptor can work with either the Xbox or Gamecube (and any PS2 games that are progressive scan). It also supports a limited 480i mode so you can mess with your console's menu.

Yeah, I got a tv right next to my monitor, I'm running the AV cables into it so I can get sound and the initial video screen. I selected prog scan for Super Mario Sunshine, then F-Zero, and neither of them registered on my monitor.
*this might be relevant, I don't know. I got the Naki vga box for my DC a while back. You plug the PC video cable into it. However, this GC vga cable seems to just plug right into the back of the PC. Am I doing something wrong, or do I need some other adapter to get this to work?

yeah, i plug the cube directly into my monitor, and i had to get a female/female vga adapter for it to work. 5 or 10 bucks, i don't remember.
Where can I get one of those?

i got it a general electronics store around here. a circuit-city kinda place. i can't remember the name of it, as i hardly go there. if you can't find it near your house, i can mail one to you. provided they still have it in stock, of course.
Thanks. I'mma go search for one right now in my area.
