Thread: Can you play imports on a Sega Nomad?

  1. Can you play imports on a Sega Nomad?

I picked up a Nomad with batt pack today for $50, and seeing as how my collection of genesis/megadrive stuff sucks, I feel bad, but seeing as how I have MegaDrive versions of Ghouls n Ghosts and Super Fantasy Zone, I'm like splooging at the thought of portable versions of these 2 games, so I'm wondering if you can use the same trick as the genesis to play imports, via just cutting around the cart slot so that it accomodates the different size of the cart.

    Anyone have any suggestions?

  3. Yes, you can play imports on the Nomad provided you have the proper converter. The Magic Key is by far the best, it bypasses lockouts and can even play PAL games on NTSC systems.
    omg TNL epics!

  4. Were there any really good games for Genesis that you would want imported other than for aesthetic reasons ala the gay dude in SoR3?

  5. huh? I've had no trouble playing MD games regularly on my Nomad. The cart even fits nice tight n' snug. Never had to use a converter or anything and the games have played fine, and it's not so snug to where it causes any sort of damage or anything...I'm not jamming and forcing things in the slot (if ya know what i mean *wink wink*). :P

  6. Hooray! With the snicker-snak of an xacto knife, my nomad plays imports with a little jiggle of the cart :-) I now know what it feels like to play Daimaikamura, Super Fantasy Zone and Thunderforce 4 till your eyes get glued shut.
