Have you ever played Balloon Kid or Wrecking Crew '98? While neiter games are exactly remakes, they're every bit as good as their predecessors, if not better, although they changed the game system in Wrecking Crew' 98 by making it more Tetris-like. It's too bad we won't be seeing the planned Dracula's Curse remake.

On a related not, does anyone where I can find VS. Nintendo Roms for Mame? I know ROM requests are evil and stuff here, but if you where I can find some, please sent me a private message.

  2. Ive said it before(on the old GameGo! forums anyway) and Ill say it again:Blue Seed.
It would be a multi DVD spanning sci-fi manga epic (oh yea) with a map screen similar to the one in Persona 2 but better(obviously),the battles would continue to be fully animated but in Ghost In The Shell type quality. With stupidly long battle animations and a soundtrack straight from the anime it would truly be a videogame masterpiece...

Also a fully cel-shaded M.U.S.H.A remake would be VERY intresting.

That's quite a statement! What are your other favorite Castlevania games on the NES? Castlevania 1 and 3?

    Just kiddin'.

  5. Final Fantasy Tactics-i mean, how doesnt want this game remade? but i hear theres another one in the works, so maybe its not needed

NHL FaceOff'97 -all of the recent FaceOff games have sucked balls. 989 studios ruined the damn series.

Contra (NES)- just for shits and giggles. still a great game.

True. If for nothing else than to make it clearer that the sleeping guy at the begining is really a guy.. and not a giant bee as I thought.

Ok, since Shadowrun is already taken, my choice is Warsong 1&2. Put em both into one game, add some more character classes, some more spells, some variety of attacks. This is gonna get me killed Im sure... but make it 3d. Or atleast use polygons for the BG's, and super nice sprites for the characters. Anime cut scenes would be spiffin ill aswell.

Wanna buy some frag grenades chummer?

  7. The Guardian Legend.

I cannot believe this NES title never got a sequel. The gameplay was so genius... part adventure, part shmup. Take huge, detailed, 60fps 3D worlds, and add to it great 2.5D shmupping levels (a-la Einhander or Radiant Silvergun), and you have one hell of a gaming experience. The only thing I request of Irem/Compile if, by some miracle, they decide to do a remake... get rid of the fireball weapon! It's too damn cheap.

Someone earlier said Maniac Mansion. I vote for that one, as well as Kemco's puzzle-sim trilogy (Shadowgate, Deja Vu, Uninvited). All of those games would make excellent next-gen remakes.

    Actually Castlevania 3 then 1

I like the mix of some RPG elements that was in Castlevania II, I guess that is why Castlevania Symphony of the Night is my favorite Castlevania ever, that and Alucard is just too awesome

  9. I would like to see any and all 16/32 bit 2D greats remade in 640 × 480 with animation from the gods. NO 3D BG's! Hire an oil painter to do the BG's, and do it with 6 scrolls. Super Mario Brothers, Castlevania IV, Yoshi's Island, Shinobi, Actraiser, Bionic Commando, Ghouls and Ghosts, Metroid, 19XX, whatever. Make them all.

I believe Guardian Legend was a spinoff of an MSX shoot-em-up called Guardic, but unfortunately Guardic has nothing in common with the Guardian Legend.

Along with Donkey Kong no Ongaku Asobi, Virtual Mario Land is another cancelled Nintendo game that I would had love to get my hands on. Instead of rehashing old Super Mario games, Nintendo should've instead take what they done so far in Virtual Mario Land and created a whole new Mario game for the GBA.
