Best 3D action game of this generation?

By 3D action games, I mean third person games where you play as a single character, beating the shit out of lots of dudes.

Erm... was supposed to be a poll, guess I fucked it up

But anyway, examples of what I mean:

Devil May Cry
Otogi: Myth of Demons
Viewtiful Joe
Max Payne 2

No action games that fit into a "sub-genre", like stealth (ie Hitman 2), platformer/puzzle (ie Prince of Persia), etc. And yes, I know Viewtiful Joe has some puzzles, but that doesn't count... because :'(

That's a lot like a platformer, but I guess it counts since a majority of the platforming is done through chaining enemies. Good choice, either way

Oh, and my choice is still Max Payne 2 as well. If Otogi keeps up the pace it's going at, it's going right up there behind it, though.

No contest, it's Shinobi. It's the best 3D action game ever and still the best game of this generation (if you don't count Dreamcast, and I don't).

i suppose i could easily add a poll, but i think there's gonna be way too many nominees.

anyways, im gonna vote for Rayman 2 since you run around, and on occasion beat people down.

if that doesn't count though, Viewtiful Joe it is.
