I DLed XP Pro and burned the .bin so easily. I've used it to load XP Pro on 2 PCs, now. The only hard part is finding a cd key, since the original cracked cd key got disabled.
if you want you can get an OEM windows from newegg since your buying hardware (i got mine when i bought a scratch and dent 486 for a penny....not the OS the chip was a penny). and seriously go athlon xp. its much cheaper.
The computer is up and running and everything seems good, but I've got a problem and i'm confused.
I ran 3DMark03, and looking at the project details, it shows my FSB is running at 200Mhz instead of 800Mhz. I looked through the device manager and in the Bios, but i can't find anywhere to confirm this and/or change it. Does anyone know what to do?
I have an old copy of WinXP (before they made you register it in 30 days) and apparently my serial number is the same as one which pirates use all over the internet. As a result, I cannot download service packs. When I called Microsoft, they said I had pirated my copy and they would not issue a new CD or serial number.
I don't know what that has to do with anything, but I did copy the XP CD pretty successfully and gave it to people who had no problems installing it after that.
