OK, Chux just gave me/let me borrow his copy of REOutbreak, and I don't think it's anywhere near as bad as some of you are making it sound.

I've been playing from 2:30-ish until about 10 minutes ago, and so far, every game I played I got just a little bit further, or learned a different way through one of the earlier parts, or whatever.

There are a bunch of different options at any given time, most of the characters play pretty differently, and there is a ton of stuff to find.

Playing with someone else is FAR FAR FAR better than playing alone though. And, I was unable to play with anything more than one other person. The matchmaking options SUCK (or, in actuality, they're non-existant) and the control could use a little tightening up, but overall, I was quite pleased and will definitely buy this when it's released.

Anyone wanna try to play with me tomorrow night?

As much as a Resident Evil whore I am, I absolutely refuse to buy this game. I've been screwed so many times with Online PS2 titles (Tiger Woods, SSX3, THUG) absolutely sucking in the past. If the only perk to a PS2 version of a game is online play, I'll gladly switch over to a different console.

I am pretty glad I bought Resident Evil 2 this week though. That game is awesome. They should have just made this online..2 players, the A and B game at the same time. Sure, you'd know exactly what to do, but at least you'd be playing a good RE game.

In the beta you can't play the offline game, but it sounds like to me, that the offline game has tons of replay value (unlike EVERY other RE title, which gives you what, a bunch of new costumes? Wow.) and pretty good graphics (although not up to REmake status) with a slightly new take on the old RE formula.

Resident Evil games are always designed to be beaten in like, 2 hours or less without saving (that's always how you unlock the rocket launcher or somesuch) so I'd think you'd jump at the oppurtunity for more game this time around.

Is the beta still going? I havn't played in about 3 days or so...I thought it ended on the 2nd.

I would love to meet up for a game online, but as far as I know there is no way (at least in the beta) to select who you want to play with. If you know a way, post here or pm me, and we can meet up.
