In what appears to be a nod to Sony and their "Greatest Hits" PS2 games, Pioneer is re-releasing the Trigun volumes "bargin priced" (meaning, $19.99) with a fucking annoying, huge red stripe at the top, just like Sony does with their games. I only have volumes 1-4 and was excited about getting the other 4 volumes cheaper, but this just turns me off. What purpose does messing up the cover serve? A sticker would do.
Anyway, I don't know if Pioneer is doing this with any other series as well.

Hard Rock Save the Space
Yeah, it's ugly and really, really clashes with the cover art to Serial Experiments Lain, but it is cheaper and all.
the Crash King
it's ugly and should never have been. also saw them on the Armitage the Movie dvds too. the art is a little more crisper since they shrunk it down a bit though.
