I get them free, and they go right onto a pile. If I wanted hot chicks, I have the internet, where I can see genuinely provocative positions, and if I want humor, I have the Onion, and if I want shitty video game reviews, I have 411Games.
The point is, I'm not paying for it. Hence I'm not supplying them with money. Yes, I'm advertising it more, but no one is paying for the magazines. Even when the free subs are expired, all they do is sign up for it via my free magazine thread. I got STUFF magazine until November 2008. Not a penny came out. I have Maxim until '06. Same thing thereOriginally Posted by omfgninjas

I've only read either of the mags when they were free, and Maxim was at least semi-decent when it first started, now it's just shit though.

Its the worst sports game ever made... well, except for wrestling games.
Its the worst non-wrestling sports game ever made.
Anyway, my point is that shit doesnt become good because its free. It becomes free shit, not free goods.
No, you don't get it. Magazines make their money off of the advertisements, which they get by showing their subscription rate. Advertisers are happy when they see that magazine A has more subscribers than magazine B. The magazine likes you getting the magazine for free more than the people that buy it at the bookstore.Originally Posted by bandit
You want trash? Read Stuff Gamer. I am not exaggerating when I say that almost the first twenty pages were exclusively bad N-Gage ads.
This will sound totally cliché, but honestly, I never bought Maxim for the photo spreads.
I bought Maxim because it had interesting articles on stuff like medieval forms of torture and people surviving falling outta planes.
But I stopped buying it because I was in school and broke, and the habit sorta died.
