The SP guage thing is goofy though, and goes against the grain of the improvements made in Eternia. I can imagine hating it.
Was the encounter rate every five steps? Because that's what it is in Destiny 2. And you know what's worse than playing Stahn going to various places with no actual purpose? Playing his whiny son doing the exact same thing. The SP gauge is probably even worse than you imagine it. It's not a factor in quick fights, but basically it kicks in whenever a battle is getting really good and ends up ruining it every time. It doesn't add anything to the challenge either since your team mates are constantly healing you.
(I really just didn't like Destiny much. Total rush job. Though I guess Destiny 2 could be a worthy successor in that regard, too...) In japan, Destiny and Destiny 2 were the most popular in the series, even among series fans. I don't know what's wrong with people sometimes...
Destiny 2 feels like a rush job in almost every aspect. It feels like they threw it together and didn't actually try playing it because it may look good on paper, but actually playing it everything just breaks down. I find it really surprising that anyone can even like this game, especially people who have played other games in the series. But then I never thought the majority of Japanese gamers had very good taste in games.
