NO YOU FUCK OFF
Home now...just a few more thoughts.
The movie fucked up the look of GI Joe, but the characters weren't completely generic look-a-likes like I thought they would be based on trailers, pics, etc. Still would have liked it to be more loyal in that respect, however, but they got some of the little basics right. Baroness wore black leather and glasses, Scarlett was a redhead with a crossbow, Snake-Eyes was a silent ninja in black (he took a VOW of silence when his master was murdered? LOL), Storm Shadow was a ninja in white, The Pit...considering how Hollywood constantly rapes our memories, we're lucky they even got THAT shit right.
Also, despite taking huge liberties with the look and storylines, the movie DID feel like GI Joe in the basest sense. I mean, they had GI Joe and Cobra fighting each other with high-tech weapons and gadgets all over the world. That's GI Joe in a nutshell. To purists it was almost unrecognizable, yeah, but if you took a person that knew nothing whatsoever of GI Joe, had them casually flip through a few issues of the comic, and then showed them the movie, they'd probably swear it was a perfect translation.
And I'm shocked. Marlin Wayans wasn't NEARLY as annoying as I thought he'd be. He was actually a bit reserved. I still can't stand him and him minstrel act, however.
Like I said, soild but brainless and forgettable.
