Martin Campbell to my surprise has actually directed a bunch of movies that I enjoyed like the Zorro movies, Edge of Darkness, and Goldeneye and I didn't totally hate the Green Lantern movie. I think that movie's issues were mainly in its mediocre script with maybe Ryan Reynolds becoming an off-putting presence depending on your views of him but he was generally fine for me in the role. Plus Parallax was a freaking giant head cloud instead of a creepy bug.

Anyway if it does end up being Campbell I'm sure it'll be more akin to Retaliation in terms of quality but I didn't exactly love that movie either considering that they killed off a bunch of Joes and had a lower the scope compared to the first due to the lower budget. Granted it corrected the tone a lot better and aesthetically felt closer to the comics/cartoon but it just didn't quite hit it off with me as much as I would have wanted it to.
