I was in a store today and noticed that the GI Joe movie action figures are out. I was reading the little character bios on each of the packages and here's the backstory with Destro's mask- it turns out that his face is burned at some point in the movie and he's injected with nanobots. They repair the burns to his face but in the process turn his skin into metal. So, that's NOT a mask...it's his face.

Wow, whoever would think that a live-action movie would have a sillier and less realistic explanation for Destro's mug than a comic book?

On the action figure side, at least theyre re-releasing the older joes in the original artwork packaging. Theyre doing a good job there. Im waiting for Scrap-Iron

I looked at the movie toys the other day. They're okay. I got all excited when I noticed the vehicles were in regular boxes, but upon fidgetting one open, I discovered they're put together already. I miss the fun of putting the vehicles together myself.

Scrap-Iron already came out in a comic 2-pack and an Extreme Conditions 7-pack. The 25th line is basically dead now until the movie line is over. The last items are two 7-packs of classic figures that are online-only.

They don't strike me as being very real with suggestions this movie is on the same level as Up! for storytelling.

lol, from the trailer you can already see that this monolith of mediocrity is more competently shot than the Transformers movies. This also won't be about Shia la fagnerdwhomagicallygetsluckywiththehotgirl and Megan generichotgirlwhodecidestofallforthenerdfornoparticularreason with GI Joes story being a subplot. So far looks better than TF.

Yeah I meant the individual figure with the artwork though. I saw that it was scheduled to come out late this year or early next.

Are you one of those people who keep toys in the original package because omg it'll be valuable one day!

If I buy a toy, it comes out of the package and goes on my shelf. I don't give a fuck what it comes in.
