Thread: Do you save system boxes?

  1. Do you save system boxes?

I'm getting ready to move, and I'm in the process of cleaning my room a bit, when I noticed (for some reason), that I still had the boxes for my xbox, GC, ps2, DC, and Saturn.

Does anybody else save this kind of stuff? My fiancee just wants to throw em out, and I'm starting to agree with her, unless this stuff has some kind of hidden value I'm not aware of.

  2. I've saved all of my boxes over the years for EB warranty purposes, but they're starting to take up unreal amounts of space, so I'll probably chuck them all soon, barring some that have nifty screens on the back.

  3. Yup. Receipts(sp) too. Force of habit.

  4. I still have mine, but I keep them up in the attic out of the way... I still have my SNES box up there as well

  5. Yeh, for some reason I still have all my boxes. PS2, GBA, NGPC, Dreamcast, Saturn, Sega CD, Genesis,... and I am not sure about Master System/Game Gear. It might be around somewhere with most of the other old ones, somewhere in my parents attic. The only one I actually have in my apartment is my PS2 box, oh, and icepop's Dreamcast box.

I am not saving them, as such, and I can't think of any reason to keep them, but I do. You need to put things in boxes sometimes and I'd rather use these than brown cardboard, I guess.

  6. If anyone has a Neo Geo or Sega Master System box they want to get rid of, I'll gladly take them!

  7. Is there any sort of monetary worth to them though?

Because honestly, if the only reason to keep them around is because they look cool, then time for me to chuck em, because I don't have enough room for all my games, systems, and then big ol empty boxes.

  8. I'm moving too, and I've found the boxes are great for holding and protecting the systems during the move. Put 'em in their original boxes and then stick those in bigger boxes.

  9. If you don't have the boxes, you aren't hardcore, and thus your online hardcore ranking will plummet once word gets out that you threw them away. Do you really think you can deal with people moaning about how they totally would've paid you good money for them if you could just hold them indefinitely until they get some.

NO! Not my online hardcore ranking! It's low enough as-is!
