using headsets while playing a game

I just started doing this mainly so I could play in the wee hours of the morning and not disturb anyone. It actually enhances the sound and immerses you in the game more. I'm hearing voices I've never heard before! Wow!

  2. Saturn Japan

I bought a pretty nice pair of headphones last month and I started using them with GBA and I noticed the same thing. It really enhances the experience. The key is to get a pair of headphones that are comfortable, that's why I never used to bother in the past.

It works nice with the TV as well. I did it a few times when icepop was studying. Plus, as a bonus, I didn't hear her when she asked me things.

That and you might need an extender for your tv since most headsets aren't too long. Target has em for about $8

I tend to wear headphones by default, now. I always find it neat to go back and play games which have weird stereophonic effects that I haven't noticed before as well.

Oh hey, what you shoulda done was say which kind of headhpones you use or are going to get. I'm still using these, they aren't quite the best but get the job done.

No problem here. The cord on my headphones is quite long. It easily reaches the couch. I guess it helps that my TV has the jack on the front too.

Edit: Here's a pic. They are Sony's MDR-v150. They were only $20 and they sound great. There was a silver $50 version available as well.

  6. Sennheiser HD590's... my babies. I usually take them off the computer only for Rez, but they're insanely good quality (and comfortable too) no matter what they're used for.

Sometimes it's fun to just crank up the speakers *really loud* though. Depending on the situation, nice headphones can definitely let you hear more than you normally could though, so to them.

Nice pair of cans! I'm getting some Grado SR60's today.

  8. Sennheiser PX-200. I got them for home and portable use. They are really nice for portable use and good for home use, but the range is not quite what I want for home use.

I have thought about getting a pair of these for home use because they are said to have a better range (audio not distance) and I can just go wherever with them. Any recomendation on these?
