Six buttons, but lord knows how they were wired, or if they were. It'd be nice if they were setup DC joystick-style, but who knows? Anyway, check the various HK sites like Lik-Sang and PlayAsia to see if they still have 'em. Doubt it, though.
With six face buttons too? If so I want one, the 3D Saturn pad is one of my fav controllers. Anyone know where I can snag one of these dreamcast ones?Originally Posted by skelly

Okay, I just cracked both of mine open... both have magnets on the left trigger, but there are no magnets in the same spot on either right trigger. There are no magnets extra magnets inside, though. Would any size magnet suffice? I'm at Radio Shack right now, being that it's where I work, and if I could fix them while I'm here... yes...
So... would the magnets be anywhere else? Is there any specific magnet I need for this?
EDIT: Oh! I think I've got it! The magnet on the outside of the other trigger doesn't stick on the other trigger in the same spot. Using my amazing powers of deduction, I have figured out that the magnet goes INSIDE the trigger!
Astounding!
So, I guess I found my extra magnet.
For those who've fixed these already, what kind of glue did you use to adhere it to the trigger again? What side did you put the glue on?
I've yet to have a problem with it, although I've only had mine for a few years now. Never had a problem with either of my first-gen Saturn pads either.

I wish I was able to do that with my import Dreamcast controllers pieces of shite.
Heh, funny thing is, my magnet WAS bouncing around, though, I'm guessing not for long. In both controllers, the magnet found its way over to the OTHER magnet, and stuck itself to it. So, I had no problem finding it.
Now, I just put the magnet back... so, it's not like it's glued. I haven't had a problem with it, though. Well, I haven't had a problem with the one that works...
Your are correct. They're an excellent substitute and I've never known them to break on me, but basically these were Saturn pads modified to work on the Dreamcast. I purchased a few of these and they worked great when I played my fighting games on the Dreamcast. On an interesting note, I found that the L and R triggers didn't respond when playing SF3: Second Impact and SF3: Third Strike. But every other Capcom fighting game worked flawlessly. I'd part with the ones I owe, but I may want to play Alpha 3 or something one day.Originally Posted by skelly
Go to J&L's website at http://www.jnlgame.com or perhaps even Lik Sang still sells them if you're looking to pick one up.
That's cool. So all six face buttons work for fighters? How about the analog pad? I was skeptical as to whether or not that could actually provide analog control for DC games. If it works properly, it could well be better than the DC's default analog stick.
Yeah, all of them will work w/o any problems. (At least, none that I've encountered and I own a LOT of Capcom fighting games --- which I imagine you're especially curious about). You could use analog controller as well (my friend used it for Soul Calibur and it was...decent. Stick to the original DC pad or better yet, a joystick if you want the best results).
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Yeah, I was just wondering how the analog disc worked in analog-compatible non-fighting games, like Sonic Adventure or whatnot. Sounds like it's a nice pad to have.
