SOTN is overated. Its a solid game, but thats about it. Its not nearly as good as the game it was obviously imitating. It gets hype for being a semi-new 2D game.

Madden 2004 meanwhile has blazing AI, tons of options, a ridiculously awesome Manager mode that lets you build a stadium, and some of the best multiplayer action anywhere.

You want to talk travesties? How about Mario Kart 64 thrashing Gran Turismo 3? The second worst in the MK series (Hi Double Dash!) with awful track designs, glitches up the yin yang and terrible weapon balancing is destroying the true driving simulator. Granted, Im not a huge fan of GT3 because, well I suck too much at it to be a fan, but I respect it as a game.

You're probably the person for me to bring this up to. What do you think of THPS2 destroying SSX3? For some ungodly reason, SSX3 never get the total respect it deserved from the mainstream gamer. It's one of the best PS2 games ever, easily the best snowboarding game ever and considering how well Tricky went over, was setup to be a huge cross over smash...that never happened. Now with THPS2, I loved the game. But looking back on it I find it impossible to play without a revert. If we could take all those tracks and everything about that game..and just give it a revert I could actually understand it beating SSX3. Now days, I just don't see how it could. It's just monstrous now that we have stuff like the revert.

Sl1p: Might be because the whole extreme sports videogame thing is dying down. THPS2 was massively popular and that is one of the few sports series to actually have any creed with hardCORE gamers... SSX3 for all of its virtues is dripping with EA-game-dudeness, so of course that makes the hardCORE!!! retreat to the comforts of shitty 2D shooters that everyone got bored of 10 years ago.
