Thread: SpikeOut Extreme, more Smilebit games coming to Xbox

  1. SpikeOut Extreme, more Smilebit games coming to Xbox

    Magicbox-
Toshihiro Nagoshi from Amusement Vision mentioned to Famitsu Xbox that they will be showing a playable version of SpikeOut Extreme for Xbox in E3 2004. In addition, they are working with Smilebit on multiple new projects, some of which are coming to Xbox as well.

Spikeout Extreme is based on the AM2 Arcade game Spikeout that was pretty much a free roaming Streets of Rage. Huge environments and 4 players to a machine but you could network 4 machines together to have 16 players brawling at once (maybe more). A lot of us here are surprised this is still coming considering this was announced a LONG time ago. The promise of this on XBOX Live would make this a definite sale for me.

  6. Sweat

I would be fucking ecstatic over this if Smilebit hadn't split up, with half of them heading over to join Amusement Vision.

  7. Hmm, that's good. I figured SpikeOut Extreme was pretty much dead.

  8. Yeah, I thought for sure it was a goner. Good to see that isn't the case.
