What do you guys think about Venezuela? NPR's in full fucking communist spin mode on the subject, it's sick. Damn commie pinko bastards.

Venezuela was a failed, western-backed (through the School of the Americas) coup. Greg Palast, who was there for some of the major demonstrations, estimated that at one rally there were 10,000 anti-Chavez protesters vs. 200,000 Chavez supporters. The anti-Chavez contingent got more publicity because they come from the higher end of Venezuela's socio-economic ladder and because America wanted Chavez out. The only mainstream American journalist who even touched on this is Geraldo (sadly enough), which is probably because he was one of the few who actually went to Venezuela.

I do think that political views run in the family, I come from a long line of tory voters with just my brother and I as the exceptions. In my experience (having spoken at length about this with friends) #2 is quite true but the rest of the points in that article are a bit daft and the conclusion just political masturbation.

I do think abortion has had some effect on our population, as a lot more illegitimate children arn't making it out into the world these days, but I don't think it's all that serious. Regardless I still disagree with it.

Well, humans aren't really evolving any more... so it realy doesn't matter. We're fucked anyway.

Evolution = change. Children looking different form parents is technically evolution. Unless we give up sex entirely and clone ourselves, we're technically evolving. We're evolving the wrong way, though, so we're (as you said) fucked anyway.

Oh, and abortion isn't going to put a dent in the number of liberals in this country unless they start having a whole lot more. I suggest neo-cons drop the "one wife" thing if they want to out breed them.

Liberals, Conservatives... man I get sick of this shit. Here's a secret for you all... neither side is right. They both get too tied up with their hating each other bullshit. If either of the extremes could take a minute to examine the issues they might notice that each side has at least some valid points on various issues. Sometimes I worry about some of you such as Stone and Yoshi... you seem so hardheaded sometimes that you only see the propoganda slant to issues. If you actually feel that way all the time I'm sorry.
