I'm assuming since he played Syberia on PC...

    Skip those, just get UT2k4.

  2. I don't see where we're going with this thread, because we all have differing definitions of greatness. I'd say most multi-platform games are best on Xbox, you might say different. You've been 'bored' with many games I thought were amazing.

If the point of this thread is to suggest Xbox games 'we' as other games really liked that you want us to recommend, that's fine. However, if the point of this thread is to somehow 'debunk' the idea that the Xbox has any good games, then I question your motives.
    Time for a change

  3. I'm picking up 2k4 when it comes out, been playing the demo a lot lately, after a lot of 2k3.

  4. Just listing a few bits and bobs :

Magatama - bogstandard Japanese slash em up, pretty in places.

Ninja Gaiden - very pretty , and very hard

Thousand Land - japanese strategy game - kind of like populous/puzzler/lemmings mix. Good online.

Tekki / Tekki Taisen - costs a lot, great fun if your TV is big.

Maximum Chase - throw-away racer/shooter game, good for a laugh, won't win any awards. Acting is so bad, it makes the game fun.

Dungeons and Dragaons - 4 player dungeon slasher. As good as any if you can get 4 people together.

Crimson sky - if we ignore the PC version.... online dogfightings is pretty good fun.

DOA3 - often slagged off, but extremely polished and accessable fighter.

DOA:XVB - it could have been so much worse... it might float your boat...

Rallisport - awesome rally racing action.

Burnout 2 - i know it's multiplatform, but the much expanded crash mode is worth checking out. Mad fun.

Crimson Sea - fairly average musou-ish game

Deathrow - a very under-rated game IMO. Certainly has that Speedball feel.

Grabbed by the ghoulies - wasn't anywere near as bad as i thought it would be.

HOTD3 - suprisingly playable even with a controller.

Breakdown - for the first 2 hours, it's pretty damned good.... after that... erm....

Moto GP 2 - is this also a PC game? Anyways, great racing action (again)

Murakumo - if it had more variety, then it would be a great little game. Might be worth checking out.

Muzzle flash - Japanese fps... erm.... it's very average.

    Otogi 2 - great stuff

    PDO - awesome shooter.

Phantom Crash - average 3d mech shooter

quantum redshift - not a bad futuristic racer from the old Wipeout team.

    Raw 2 - because i'm in it.... actually, no - don't bother

It seems to be more of a realitive dissapointment with the system, which is understandable, if you find yourself post-purchase only liking 3 games. Hey, if this was a gamecube thread of the same question, omfgcsucksninjas (that is, oh my fuck, gamecube sucks, ninjas) and diff would be half the posts, filled with seething remarks as to why all those who play the games are children, and nintendo has forsaken us all.

    You want really great exclusives?

    Orta. Ninja Gaiden. JSRF.

If you don't have a decent PC, add...

    KotOR. Halo.

    The end.

    Right, so, XBOX game, eh?

    Otogi (heh)
    D&D Heros
    Hunter: The Reckoning
    "" Reedemer
    Enclave
    Voodoo Vince
    Crimson Sea

I think the only thing I've added was Enclave. I could go on, but I'm sure I'll just end up repeating what everyone else has already said.

I find myself agreeing with you far too much lately.

Victrix, I was basically in the same boat as you, so I just modded my Xbox, put in a bigger hard drive, and made it a HTPC/emulation machine primarily. Orta is about the only Xbox exclusive that has held my interest for an extended period of time. I would suggest at least trying out Crimson Skies though, even if you don't have Live.

  10. Broken Sword 2... if you liked Syberia.
