Thread: Really great Xbox games

  1. The combat wasn't quite as deep as I'd like (though part of that is pre-NG me speaking, and part of it is post-NG speaking ). More specifically, that @#(*$@#$()* @*#$@) $(@*)#@$ @!#*($ *@#$( $#@(*) @#$(*) @#$*( #@$* @$#@$ ##########*$*!!!!!!!)($)#$($ $$*# #************** $#@@ camera on the last boss really, really, really did not make me a happy camper.

  2. Xbox 360 I

The exclsuive Xbox games I dug(And some blurbs!):

Otogi: Lot's of fun, only 1 or 2 bad levels, doesn't offer the polys NG does but has an overall better look graphically(I'm going by memory though).
House of the Dead 3: Don't worry about a lightgun, it's basically an on rails shooter with little accuracy needed. Very fun.
    JSRF: Not amazing, still enjoyable.
Panzer Dragoon Orta:Only worth playing through once though, then it's boring as hell.
Ninja Gaiden:Really fun, shitty camera, great challenge and nice enviroments.

This is untrue. For a game with alternate routes, lots and LOTS of stuff to unlock it strikes me as strange that this would be too boring to play again when the majority of this board will gladly (and, IMO, also with good reason) play something like Mars Matrix or Ikaruga over and over again.

Panzer Dragoon Orta is the best Panzer Dragoon game, period.

Seeing Ryu zip-line down a frickin' power-line? Again, this is why I bought an Xbox.
    Agreed.

The other night at a Halo party my boss is driving me around Blood Gulch in the Warthog. I'm controlling the gun and dishing out Team Red justice, Bill Duke-style ("Sargeaaaaaant!!!!!"). Anyways, we run into a Blue Scorpion that had just been...decommisioned...but was still running on momentum. Our front bumper nails the Scorp head-on and we proceed to flip 180 degrees w/a twist...and land on all tires. We pause in disbelief. Then proceed to finish hosing down Blue Base.

Later that night I'm caught in a fist-fight w/a Blue that I will not win. Racing to the rescue is my boss, again behind the wheel, taking out my fellow pugilist. I barely had time to take a step back to avoid the horn-ed grill of the 'Hog. It was time to get back in the saddle...

Those two incidents exemplify the entertainment I got on just one Halo Night. More than adequate compensation for the purchase price of the Xbox.

  5. While my Haloing is done on PC these days, too much fun was had in Xbox Halo more than a year before that. To me, the Xbox has been MOST worth owning over all but I can see that not having one untill now and insisting only on games that are available ONLY for it (especially when you're comparing it to other systems you own which invariably have multiplatform that you own to judge it by). Much of my enjoyment with it came from games that are now avilable elsewhere or were always multiplatform that I liked best on Xbox. Prince of Persia is one of my favorites ever yet you probably have it for PS2 or Gamecube already. Oh well. Since you do this for a living so you say, I wouldn't call the Xbox a "wasted purchace." With a bunch of unopened games that you already have, I'd say its among the least of your wasted purchaces (thus far at least).

  6. yup - hitting the back of a fully ladden hog with a rocket and watch it flip our of control, killing all 4 occupants and squishing a few others caught in the aftermath is just amazing.

We play Halo once every two weeks with 16 players - it's just insanity.

  7. Halo PC provides that 16 player action at your fingertips whenever you want - XBOX Halo and the get together parties are awesome definitly i'm sure, but Halo Pc is a nice alternative - we need more TNL people playing online - i think its just me, tracer, lhadhatt and bbob

  10. Some solid investments that are good on a low budget:

Metal Arms: Glitch in the system
    Toe Jam and Earl 3

These are also Xbox games that I like for one reason or another:

    The Haunted Mansion
    Voodoo Vince
