Has it been clearly stated that the game takes place in the early ninties? If so, then I guess they'll go the Vice City route and only have period songs in the soundtrack.

Well, they are doing what so many gamers wanted them to do - change up the game's play and formula. No denying that. It looks like they are putting serious work into the game to make it the best GTA ever.
