  2. Need to see Voyage.. it's the only movie/special on R1 that I'm missing. By the way, did anyone see Dragon of Doom? What did you think?

  3. I got it in December, along with Harimao from VGD for $30. It's got quite a bit more action than Harimao or Twilight, comparing it to the specials, and the characters are more fleshed out. The intro sequence for the theme song is fantastic, it's funny with lots of action in it. The emphasis on the power of Goemon's sword is great, although Funimation's renaming is odd, it does add more emphasis on the power of the sword.

Also, the mispronounced names are a little more annoying here due to how they're used, in particular, a "HERE COMES THE JIG-GEN" line that is just...bad. As is an "I'm a Loopin, and a Loopin always gets what he wants", which wouldn't be as bad had there not been a whiny tone to go along with it. Great special overall, probably my favorite of the three TV specials I've seen.

  4. Hm.. I thought it had some good twists, but Zenigata was critically underused and a lot of it seemed pretty contrived. Some of the Lupin traditions seemed lacking in gusto. Mm, just me though, and I still liked it, but I thought it was Funi’s weakest release. I need to rewatch it though.

  5. I rewatched DoD and Harimao over the past few days, and wow, the voice for Zenigata so doesn't fit the character at all, beyond the funny singing of "He fought the law and the law won." Some of DoD's rewriting annoyed me, like referring to the Titanic movie, with Fujiko insulting Jigen due to it, which doesn't fit the characters at all. At least Pioneer/Geneon goes with rewrites that fit the characters.

  6. Voyage to Danger arrived today. Pretty fun movie, with the voice acting being the best of any Funimation production, and Jigen's name even being pronounced correctly a few times.

  7. Wow, according to Richard Epcar, the Genoen cast might dub 50 more eps. www.TVTome.com rules with this news.

  8. There is some similarity between the two, for me, it's the lanky limbs. Lupin's second series is...weird in the sense that it doesn't have one distinct tone going through it (judging by what I've seen of it thus far), which works well in that you never really know what to expect from one episode to the next, but it doesn't work out so well if you expect one key thing from every episode.

how the fuck is this relevant to the thread?

Please go away. I'm asking nicely.

  10. We wouldn't keep calling you out on your stupid worthless posts if you stopped posting things that no one cares about.

In a discussion about Lupin, no one cares that you like anime but wish you could watch it more. That adds nothing to the conversation and serves no purpose other than to boost your post count.
