It better play beautifully because screenshots sure as hell aren't going to sell it. But if you say it's fun I'll just have to take your word for it. Certainly sounds cool enough.

Toby Gard, creator of Tomb Raider and B.C. Racer, came by with Galleon today. Him and his team have finally finished the game after 6 long years. They haven't announced a publisher yet, but they'll have one by E3 and it's anybody's guess when said publisher will release the game. It is an Xbox exclusive title.
I really liked what I saw of the game yesterday. When he first booted up the game, I was like, UGH! JESUS CHRIST MY EYES! Especially after playing FarCry for the past week. Then, as he began to run around superhuman styles around these huge islands, swim like a dolphin in deep tropical waters, run up walls like the Prince of Persia and stick to them like Spider-Man, literally kung-fu brawl with up to like 10 enemies using a variety of impressive and fun to execute moves--all of which functions within a friction/mass/momentum-based physics system--I knew this game was more than just shitty graphics.
Basically, image the environmental puzzles of Ico, with the acrobatics of Prince of Persia (except this time, it's really much more open-ended and less linear/scripted platforming puzzles since it's all physics-based), and the combat of... I dunno, Mark of Kri and its emphasis on huge multi-enemy brawls (loosely) and you've basically got Galleon. It's a game that's much more intent on hammering its strange aesthetics into your head than it is on trying to push triangles and the latest bump mapping technology. It's also a game with absolutely zero ship battles and--get this--NO PIRATES.![]()
Can't wait to play it for review actually.

wow
I remember reading about this back in the day in Next Generation I think. The graphics were gorgeous back then! Damn, it's been awhile. Still looking forward to it.
I'm sorry.

Why is it that ugly? Simple I can understand. Primative I can understand. Ugly? At the professional release level? Can't understand that.
It seems that everyone in the game is severely malnourished...
