The story's almost ten years old, but I still think it warrants some attention. Anybody remember this? It was going on during the whole OJ fiasco, so it's easy to have missed it.

It's apparent that he knew about the law and was hoping (or possibly knew) it would take them a while to rescind the check. There's no reason for anyone to deposit a check that says "Non-Negotiable" and is clearly an advertisement unless there's malicious intent. Just like the woman who saved up the coupons.
