1st PC, is the backup, running IE. I don't use it, but since my brother has been hitting the porn sites like no tomorrow, there is spyware up the ass (so to speak) on it.
Symptoms:
Upon each restart, the homepage is set to some MSN Search Page (can get the specific url if needed)
Ran Spybot and Adaware (1st crashes before compeltion, AA runs and completes), restarted.
Tried to go to Trendmicro for a free virus scan, when I click on Scan Now, IE crashes out.
Multiple reboots = same result. Ideas?
2nd PC, Opera. Multiple crashes lately, never had any before but had about 20 today. Virus scan came up clean, AA and Spybot ran to completion.
Anyone?

1st: Frag it. When you get Windows back up and have the latest patches installed, go into Add/Remove Programs > Set Program Access and Defaults. Choose Custom. On the line with IE (make sure you install Opera/Firefox/Mozilla/etc first), uncheck the "allow access to this program" or "show this program" box. Then click OK/Close/whatever.
2nd: Frag Opera. Reinstall.
Damn, would prefer to not nuke the 1st, but such is life.
