Metroid coming to the big screen?

This could end up being good because they could explore the Samus character and universe more. To be honest I thought Metroid was kind of flat as story. She just landed to take care of business, a metroid was release and she chased and eventually killed it. (usually in a cave in and planet explosion)

I'd like to know who her superiors are, how she came across the suit, who SHE is, etc. I don't play too many Metroid games so I could have just missed the answers in there.

If they focus on just the cool action and visuals then this movie will be flat. Probably a good movie because of the strong battle and style of metroid, but flat. 1D.

Yeah, most of that is in Zero Mission. But yeah... Samus hasn't had much character development. I wonder if they'll make her a "cold-but-caring-bitch" like Ripley.

There was a comic about Super Metroid that dealt with that (not sure if it's official canon) and I think they touched on a lot of it in Prime (don't really remember everything that was written, it's been a while).

I'm just worried it will be focused too much around action, which is probably will since it's WOO here. I'd like Ang Lee to take a stab at it. Most would disagree with me after The Hulk though. Woo and Lee!

Astro's right - the code works, but "bailey" doesn't and never did mean "swimsuit" or anything close in any language. It's an Internet myth that was repeated so many times it was taken as truth. Some kid named Justin Bailey probably punched his name into the Metroid password screen, got some cool results, sent it into NP and the rest is history. There are thousands (maybe millions?) of other codes that will also get you swimsuit Samus.

See that's cool. They should explore this during the action. I don't know how she could hunt Metroids for 2 hours but hey, if Tom Hanks can talk to a volleyball for 2 hours and make it good, I think it's doable. Hard, but doable.

I doubt this movie.
