Cannot open folders in XP Pro

For the last week, i have been unable to open any folders on my pc. They all restart explorer.exe i think everytime i try. All icons and the start bar vanish for a sec, and come back. I can still run programs by going to Start>run>browse. ive used multiple virus scanners, and used 3 different ad removal programs, problem still not fixed.

I too was cursed with this problem, and unfortunately I don't have much advice for you. Go to your program manager and uninstall anything that you personally did not install. Then run Ad-aware or spy-bot, as well as a few anti-virus programs. I would suggest AVG, it's free and a really good virus solution. Doing one of these is bound to help you, because honestly, one day the problem just went away.

I'd say explorer's registry settings have gone wiggy.

Best advice I could give is to do a clean install. (If possible.)
