It makes me very happy that people are enjoying themselves, learning new things, and helping promote this kind of gaming lifestyle.

TNL is becoming almost like its own country on the Internet and learning how to govern such an intelligent and opinionated bunch has been interesting. I have seen and backed, implicitly or explicitly, some stupid decisions as part of the process, but I trust we are on the right path. Thanks to cka and Lhadatt for putting it all together from a technical standpoint and all the admins and mods for dealing with so much without cracking.

The bottom line: If you don't feel like you are part of a family here, then we are not doing our job.

If you're gonna start financing the boards, I'd start with the banner ads and leave it at that for awhile.

Once that happens, I hope to see less of a restriction to av size and memory limit. It's currently blocking me from posting anything goofy.

You could talk to online stores about doing refrence banners, where you get a cut of the profit for everyone who goes to them from the banner. Then put up related banners at the top or bottom of certain threads that have to deal with it. Like a music site in music, and a dvd store in cineama.

Penny Arcade chooses what banner ads they run. They just have ads for what they like and they fit in well enough that it isn't obnoxious or in the way. That's a good route to take. Also, Gone Gold has a deal with gogamer.com where they get a small cut from sales mae through the link they have. Gogamer has sick prices so it works out for everyone.
