Thread: Mega Man Zero Discontinued So Quickly?

  1. I need to buy that. I was actually going to buy Konami Arcade Gallery and Namco Museum at my Toys R Us today. But I went to my Best Buy instead and bought a copy of Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance, Klonoa 2, and a non-Greatest Hits copy of Gran Turismo 3. btw.
Buy Yakuza and Oblivion. Help yourself, help TNL.

  2. Don't despair, Chao, just look around for it a little, I'm sure you'll find it, I've still seen it all over.

Also don't rule out it might get a reprint, I think Natsume did another run of Friends of Mineral Town after A Wonderful Life came out, and Namco pulled the cobwebs off of Klonoa after a few years and gave it a bargain-basement price, Target-exclusive second print run.
    omg TNL epics!

"I can't find this game anywhere."
"I've got it next to me."
"Can I send you the money for it and shipping and have you mail me the game?"
    "Sure."

Happens a lot on these boards.

  4. I don't see why anyone here would be surprised at any game's status as being "discontinued". I'd daresay most games only see one print run, unless they sell well right out of the gate, which most don't.

The only games that really stay in constant production are Greatest Hits and their ilk.

  5. yeah, i've just recently started looking for this game (last couple weeks) and nowhere around me has it (Fry's, Best Buy, TRU, etc.). i usually go to ebay at this point but not for gba games since so many are bootlegs and it's not always easy to tell (why hasn't ebay stopped this yet?).

anyway, i'll guess i'll just be patient. it is definitely irritating how quickly some gba games become "rare". is it really in the best interest of high sales to allow people a window of only a few months to find your game? seems screwy to me. there should be an online outlet to get old-newish stuff if shelf space is the concern. capcom's site is sold out of MMZ.

  6. Hmm, I forgot I wrote that above post. I've had Zero for awhile now. Stumbled upon it at Circuit City during their $5 sale. Even though it wasn't on the list I figured I'd check it at the register. Sure enough, it was $5.

Zero 2 then became hard to find for me but I just found (the last) one today at the local Fry's for (ouch) $29.99. As well as a bunch of Lilo & Stitch's which I've had my eye out for what seems like years.

Anyway, I'm scared of Zero 2 since Zero (1) is currently kicking my ass and apparently Zero 2 is ten times harder.

I'd just sell you my copy...but it's so damn good! Most fun swording in a mega man game. In my opinion, anyway.

There are no rules, only consequences.

It depends on what point of the game you're in. The beginning, namely choosing which boss to fight first, is extremely difficult as you have no upgrades, elves, armor forms or element chips to help you out. But if you get a modest amount of upgrades, the game is passably difficult (Except this certain fight towards the end where you fight 2 robots at the same time) and by the end the final boss shouldn't take more than a few tries.

  9. I still can't beat the angel form of X in the first game.

  10. FYI, the Konami Arcade Classics thing HAS been reissued with new, blue-ish if memory serves, cover art. So if you can't find the orange/yellow cover, just look for that one.
