Mine stopped working for some reason.... the light will come but it can't be muted and games will not recognize that I have it plugged in. Any similar problems? I called Microsoft and told me to send it to them but I would like to fix or find answers before I have to send it out.

Did you try it on an another controller? Might be the port the the pad itself.
Other than that, I don't think there is a heck of a lot an end-user can try.
