One question, since it would be impossible for a mod to
monitor what goes on in chat, what prevents trolls from
flaming, double teaming a member they don't like? I could
see this easily happening and would exclude memebers from
being able to use this feature. So are ruls still game in
chat or is this a seperate feature?

because IRC channels have what are known as OPs which bassicaly monitor chats and they have the ability to kick and ban people and make sure everyone plays nicely

Man...ok its a legitamate concern - but don't bring that baggage over to this, lets just keep it simple for now, all we need is chat room, java based that is accessible from TNL itself - which Nick has already said he's working on doing.

If a problem arises in the room after the fact then someone can decide how to go about moderating it, but the way I look at it is a chat room should be less strict than a message board. On a message board, the posts stay up for all to read, in a chat room - the viewing audience is much smaller and the messages only appear to those already in the room, not newcomers. Point is the chat room rules should be something like 'if you can't handle the heat get out of the kitchen' or one of those cliches.
